Vikos FestiVal
The Vikos FestiVal is a cultural festival celebrating theatre, music and artistic expression in the heart of Zagori, offering audiences high-quality performances in one of Epirus’ most picturesque mountain settings.
Established to promote culture in the region, the festival brings together acclaimed artists and productions while showcasing the area’s rich natural and cultural heritage through a programme of open-air events accessible to both residents and visitors.
This year’s edition will feature acclaimed productions including Romeo and Juliet – A Summer Night by William Shakespeare in collaboration with the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Ioannina (DI.PE.TH.E.), Oedipus Tyrannus by Sophocles, a recital by renowned performers Martha Frintzila and Takis Farazis, and the specially curated musical finale “The Nightingales of the Mediterranean”. Through its thematic focus on women and a programme that blends classical theatre with contemporary musical performances, the festival continues to enrich Epirus’ summer cultural calendar.
